Welcome and Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Furniture World. By accessing or using our website at furnitureworld.co.nz or purchasing products from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the website and refrain from making purchases.
Changes to These Terms
Furniture World reserves the right to update or amend these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective once published on our website. Your continued use of the website or purchase of products indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
Products, Pricing, and Sales Orders
All prices displayed on the website are in New Zealand Dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise.
Prices, product descriptions, and availability are subject to change without notice.
We reserve the right to withdraw or discontinue any product at any time.
Errors in pricing or product information may result in order cancellation and refund.
Order Acceptance and Payment
All orders are subject to acceptance by Furniture World.
We may decline or cancel orders at our discretion, including where payment cannot be verified or products are unavailable.
Ownership of goods does not transfer until full payment has been received and the goods have been delivered or collected.
Dispatch and Delivery
Orders are typically dispatched within 2 to 5 working days, unless otherwise stated. Delivery timeframes are estimates only and not guaranteed.
Additional delivery charges may apply for rural or remote areas.
If delivery is arranged through our nominated carrier:
• Someone must be available during the estimated four hour delivery window
• Delivery and assembly fees are payable directly to the carrier
• Adequate access to the delivery location must be provided
• Additional charges may apply for access issues or disassembly
Goods not collected or delivered within 21 days of contact may be cancelled at our discretion.
Claims for visible damage must be reported before signing the delivery receipt.
Free shipping offers apply only to main city locations unless otherwise stated.
Returns and Refunds
We do not offer returns or refunds for change of mind. Please choose carefully before completing your purchase.
Returns may be accepted within 14 days if a product arrives damaged, provided the issue is reported within 24 hours of delivery. Products must be unused and in original packaging.
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Warranty Information
All warranties apply under normal domestic use only and are valid for the original purchaser.
New Zealand made mattresses: 10 years on structural integrity and materials
Imported mattresses: 2 years on structural integrity and materials
Bed bases and frames: 2 years on structure and components
New Zealand made sofas: 3 years on frame, foam, and upholstery
Imported sofas and recliners: 1 year on frame, upholstery, and mechanisms
Dining tables and chairs: 1 year on structural components and finishes
Storage and cabinets: 1 year on frames, hardware, and finishes
Office furniture: 1 year on structural components, mechanisms, and accessories
Warranty Coverage and Exclusions
Warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship under normal use.
Warranty does not cover:
• Misuse, neglect, or improper care
• Normal wear and tear
• Commercial or non domestic use
Warranty Claims Process
Stop using the product immediately if a defect is identified.
Report the issue to our service team within the applicable warranty period.
Approved claims will be resolved by repair or replacement at our discretion.
Any costs associated with warranty claims, including transport, are the responsibility of the purchaser unless required by law.
Cancellations and Consumer Rights
Orders may be cancelled and refunded due to circumstances beyond our control, such as supplier failure or natural events.
Delivery delays alone do not entitle cancellation or compensation.
Marketing Communications
By opting in, you may receive marketing communications by email or SMS relating to promotions, updates, or reminders.
Marketing messages are sent in accordance with New Zealand law and our Privacy Policy.
You can unsubscribe from email marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link.
You can opt out of SMS marketing at any time by following the instructions in the message.
Service related messages such as order confirmations are not affected by marketing opt out.
Data Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms and is available on our website.
Limitation of Liability and Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Furniture World is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the website or products purchased.
Our total liability is limited to the purchase price of the relevant product.
You agree to indemnify Furniture World against claims arising from misuse of the website or breach of these Terms.
Furniture Care Guidelines
Furniture must be used as intended and maintained according to care instructions provided.
Protect products from prolonged sunlight, heat, moisture, and improper cleaning.
Failure to follow care guidelines may void warranty coverage.
Third Party Services and Carriers
Furniture World is not responsible for the actions or delays of third party carriers or service providers.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
